The Belgian Centre for Music Documentation is a non-profit association, founded in 1951. It is placed under the auspices of the Federal Government and sponsored by Sabam and the National Lottery in order to stimulate the promotion and performance of the works of Belgian contemporary composers of serious music.
The object of CeBeDeM is to stimulate the expansion of Belgian contemporary music, in Belgium as well as abroad. For that purpose, CeBeDeM compiles and publishes the works of its members, reproduces unpublished scores for performance or promotion, provides orchestral material, collects and gives all information concerning the affiliated composers.
To fulfill these major purposes the Centre developed different services and departments: a sheet music library, a recording library both with reading and listening room, a publishing, reproduction and sales department, a rental department and a promotion service.
CeBeDeM is a member of I.A.M.I.C. (International Association of Music Information Centres), as such it is also affiliated to I.M.C. (International Music Council). It is also a member of I.A.M.L. (International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres).

The sheet music library contains in principle all published and unpublished works of its members. In the reading and listening Room, open Monday, Thuesday, Thursday (9 am - 5 pm) and on Friday (9 am - 3 pm), every score, gramophone or tape-recording from the library may be consulted. Single copies may only be studied on the spot. CeBeDeM has the disposal of 2.400 orchestral performance materials available by rental on behalf of the composer concerned.
Library copies may never be used for public or broadcast performances. In case of commercially published works, people are referred directly to the publisher. Concerning works of CeBeDeM's published repertory, artists are kindly invited to buy commercial copies (chamber music and orchestral score) or to hire the orchestral material.

You can use this form to loan scores in accordance with the following conditions :
• Scores can be loaned for a period of 30 days.
• This term can be extended by 30 more days.
• You can loan 5 scores at a time.
• Our library holds exclusively classical contemporary Belgian music.

sistema di catalogazione e regolamento
The publishing and reproduction department undertakes the making of orchestral parts, the publishing and reproduction of the scores of CeBeDeM-members. Copies can be bought directly at the CeBeDeM-bookstore and worldwide through commercial dealers and distributors. To insure the dissemination of its publications and to promote Belgian music in general, CeBeDeM attempts considerable national and international promotion by offering catalogs, biographies of Belgian composers and complimentary copies of published works throughout the world. It collaborates regularily with standard references publications.
The catalogue of CeBeDeM publications covers scores of diverse musical tendencies such as post-romanticism, impressionism, neo-classicism, expressionism, dodecaphony, serialism, post-serialism, repetitive music, minimalism and post-modernism. It is available in 3 parts comprising more than 2,000 titels of affiliated composers:
• Catalogue of chamber music (PDF)
• Catalogue of orchestral music (PDF)
• Catalogue of vocal music (PDF)
Important note: The copyright regulations make impossible for us to reproduce a work published by another publisher. You have to buy it by a retailer or by the publisher himself. If this published work is no more available (and if we have a sample of it), we can sell you a copy if we receive the publisher's authorization. A form is available here to perform this step. Just ask the publisher to fill it and send it us back with your order. We absolutely need it to be allowed to help you.

• Please note that, if the scores published by CeBeDeM are available for ordering (see our catalogues of chamber, orchestral or vocal music), the other works in our library may be subject to special conditions.
• For technical reasons, we regret to be unable to estimate in advance the postage charges.

2. HIRE: orchestral music
You may use this form to request materials for hire or to receive a quote. Please, note that to avoid delay in processing your application, ALL sections must be completed.
