After an apprenticeship to be a carpenter he studied music (composition and conducting) at the Berufsfachschule für Musik in Bad Königshofen and later at the Highschcool for music at Weimar from 1991-1998. Postgraduate studies in composition until 2000. Further studies with Prof. Michel Philippot (Paris), Bernhard Haitink and Jan Cober.

Conducter of concert band and choirs, Co-founder of the festival for contemporary music “Weimarer Frühjahrstage”, founder of the “flammabis - contemporary music e.V.” and since 2000 its president, 2000 Second president of the Komponistenverband-Thüringen, 2005 Second president of the Tonkünstlerverband Würzburg Participant of the young composers’ competition at Schloß Weikersheim (jeunesse musicale), winner of the competition “Hochschulforum Junger Komponisten” with the composition O quae mutatio rerum!? which was broadcasting by the WDR, scholarship of the Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur Thüringen, winner of the young composers’ competition at Gera, 1. price with Nebelbilder for concert band by the Verband deutscher Blasmusikverbände (Association of German brass band associations); winner of the young composers’ competition at Gotha with the composition Distortions of a picture for orchestra.
