Alice A. Moerk is an American composer who lives on Anna Maria Island, Florida. She is Emeritus Professor of Music at Fairmont (WV) State College and taught music literature and composition with the Governor’s Honors Academy and Elderhostel. She also taught at Lees College, Jackson KY, Vardell Hall, Red Springs NC, and Marion College, Marion VA.
Alice holds a B. Mus. from Carthage College, MFA from Ohio University, and PhD from West Virginia University. Her specialities are medieval and 20th-century music - including CyberArts, music and the brain, computer studies, and creativity. She has worked with Ernst von Dohnanyi, Thomas Canning, Duke Ellington and Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening™.
Her honors and awards include outstanding teacher, music and arts awards, research grants, and listing in several Who's Who. Her works have been performed in Europe, South America and the United States.
