A graduate in composing of the Academia of Music and Dramatic Arts in Bratislava under the leadership of Ivan Hrušovský. He worked as a musical director in the Slovak Radio, as an editor in the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and from 2000 he has been working for the Music Centre as a publisher of notations and musical books.
He received fellowships in Lyon, France (1993) and Philadelphia, USA – ArtsLink. (1999–2000) – focused on classical music radio broadcasting. Between 1994–1997 he worked as a freelance artist. In 1993 he received the fellowship in the GRAME Studio in Lyon, France, concerning the production of electroacoustic composition in the studio. Between 1992–1994 he focused on composing and acted as a translator of professional musicological literature and for the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra he worked as an editor of the concert bulletins.
He co-operates with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, the Chamber Soloists Bratislava, the Camerata Choir, the OPERA APERTA Ensemble, the Arcana Ensemble (Toronto). He collaborates with the DAB Theatre in Nitra – music for the productions The Proposal, The Bear (1998), The Wedding (2002), Terezka (2001), Mariša (2003) and Bezkyslíkovce (2004). He also worked with groups of contemporary dance (Zuzana Hájková, Marta Poláková). He acts in a group Požoň sentimental.
As a member of the festival committee he has been for the Bratislava Music Festival (2002–2005), Mélos-Étos (from 2003) and the Evenings of New Music (from 1999).
He is a holder of the Slovak Musicological Association Award, the Dosky ‘98 Award (music for the productions The Proposal and The Bear) and the Ján Levoslav Bella Award.
His works have been presented in Prague, Vienna, Krakow, London, Paris, Amsterdam, New York, St. Petersburg and other places.
